David EVENDEN Obituary
At Oamaru, on September 15, 2022, aged 76 years. Much loved son of the late Doris and the late Walter Evenden. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Marg and Phil Roulston, Jan and Tony Rawstron, and the late Lynne Bleyenberg. Loved uncle of Jane and Daymond Yee, Amanda Roulston, Tim and Meg Roulston, Andrew and Helen Rawstron, and Sarah Rawstron. Loved great-uncle of Sylvie, Hector, Francis, Sam, Kate and Daniel. Messages to the Evenden family, C/- 14a Cresswell Ave, Christchurch 8061. A service to celebrate David's life will be held in St Luke's Anglican Church, 2 Tees Street, Oamaru, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 1.00pm, followed by burial at the Kumara Cemetery on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 2.30pm.

Sorry to hear about David´s passing. He was a teaching legend. A man who could hold a room of teenagers in the palm of his hand with the power of literature and the sound of his voice. I thank him for supporting a wet behind the ears Rookie (me). I´ll be forever grateful.
