It's apparent from the entries that David made a lasting impression on many, from all walks of life. That's the true measure of the young man we knew.

It was as a fellow Uber driver that I interacted with David. He played a pivotal role in our drivers' group on Facebook, so much so that it would only be a very slight exaggeration to say that he RAN the communications hub for our industry. The information he provided, and the advice he gave, were invaluable, and I am one of the many drivers who owe him an enormous debt. The true extent of our debt to him became apparent as illness forced him step back from our group. As his participation changed from full-on to frequent to intermittent to infrequent, a huge hole opened up.

We drivers are not the only ones who are having to deal with the vacuum left behind by David's passing. He was not only a driver but also a software engineer and a sportsman who represented New Zealand in tenpin bowling tournaments. He had a lot packed into his life, cut tragically short in his prime when he still had so much to offer.
