Peacefully at home on August 29, 2022, aged 68 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Karen Hooper. A much loved father and father-in-law of Rachel and Grant Steane, and Cameron Blair. A loved and respected step-father of Rebecca and Dean Tallentire, Mike and Simone Hooper, and Dave and Nicole Hooper. A treasured and special Poppa of Jack; Grace; Madden, Sadie; Flynn, and Ashton. A dearly loved son of Athol Blair (deceased) and Jean Pavitt, and a brother and brother-in-law of Nigel and Catherine, Andrew and Sue. A treasured uncle to his nieces and nephews. A Service to celebrate David's life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Monday, September 5, at 2.00pm. Private cremation thereafter. It was great for cousins to catch up with David in December 2021 at Aunty Heather's 100th.
So sorry that I cannot be at David's funeral.

David was my manager for a short time when I worked in JADECare. He was always considerate and easy to work with. He and I also shared a love of cars and often discussed them together. My condolences to his family - a good man taken too early.
