Daphne McCONCHIE Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Essie Summers Retirement Home, on September 20, 2025, aged 91 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Colin for 60 years. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Glenys and George, the late Ian and Tania, Brent and Lynne, and Claire. Cherished grandmother of Jonathon, Gemma and Gareth, Dean, Amy, Nick and Mia, Ash and Hailey, Cole and Sarah, and Jack and Adrienne. Treasured great-grandmother to all her much-loved great-grandchildren. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Ron (dec) and Janet (dec), Shirley and Don, Natalie and Brian (dec), Airini (dec) and Don (dec), and Wendy; Jack (dec) and Mildred (dec), Margaret (dec) and Bob (dec), and Joy (dec). A special aunt who enjoyed many happy times with her nieces and nephews. Daphne lived a full and happy life, dedicated to teaching and mentoring hundreds of children across 37 years at Sockburn, Riccarton, Wharenui, Wairakei, and Ilam Primary Schools, and was proud to direct the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival for several years. In her 30 good years of retirement, she embraced a wide range of clubs and groups and delighted in her many overseas travels. Messages to the McConchie family, c/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443.
