BROADBENT, Daniel John:
On August 8, 2015, at 8.00pm, peacefully at home, aged 8 years. Treasured eldest son of James and Jackie, loved brother of Sophie, and Tom, cherished first grandchild of Julia Griffith, Roger and Katharine Broadbent, and the late Ian (Pete) Griffith. Special thanks to the teams at Child Haematology and
Oncology Centre, Palliative
Care, and Dr Lynette Murdoch. Messages may be addressed to the family of the late Daniel Broadbent, C/- PO Box
39001, Christchurch 8545.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Child Cancer Foundation or Oxfam would be appreciated. A Private Service will be held on Friday.

How glad I am that I stopped over for a few days with you all last year en route home to Australia. Such treasured memories of a very lively Dan and several trips to the swimming pool where I showed him how to swim underwater with a sharkfin elbow sticking out. He latched on to the trick immediately and had such fun chasing his friends round the pool! He was so full of play; I'll never forget the fun we had.

I remember so clearly the first time we met on the CHOC ward...our lives suddenly intwined by the journey we shared with our precious sons. Chris and admired from afar your strength, tenacity and dedication...dan was a lucky boy to have such amazing parents as his support and advocate. I send my love to you all as you embark upon this next stage and will be here to support you, as you have done me. Love kelly and lachie and I know chris would be sending his love to you all too.
