A beautiful sister, sister in law, aunty and great aunty we are going to miss your visits to see us, the endless hours of staying up talking and the visits to carter beach, you will be in our hearts and thoughts always, time will heal our broken hearts, rest in peace lovely lady, xo

Beloved Colleen

Thank you for your gift of you to the world, I will be forever grateful for your presence in my life, you will remain in my heart always. My aroha to your girls and family for sharing you with us. I wish to dedicate this Celtic prayer to you, dearest friend.

An energetic and caring friend and colleague - too soon you have left us. Love flows to your family, especially Kate and Siobhan. Your Mum was so proud of you! She leaves a huge gap for many of us . Arohanui.

Colleen was an amazing woman who gave much to Early Childhood Education. Arohanui to whanau and everyone who worked with her in Canterbury xx

Dearest Colleen, you made a difference, in fact you changed our North New Brighton Kindy team forever. It is so rare to meet a person such as you, someone so kind, so precious and someone who cared so much about so many things. Thank you Colleen for being you and thank you once again for making a difference.

Dearest Colleen, a very rare and special lady who believed in me and inspired me to become the professional I am today. Your words of encouragement, your guidance and your warmth I will never forget. You taught me to see the world through a new set of eyes " once I opened the lid, I could not put it back " I feel truly blessed to have had you as a mentor. Thank you for being you! He mihi aroha. Dancing lightly on the earth, a magic wand that transforms all she touches, sharing her vision for a better world, our taonga, our Colleen. We weep for what we have lost, a life cut short in the midst of creative ideas, projects, discovery, compost, plans, hope and true goodness, remembered love of many treasured years. At the Memorial Service we shall celebrate the power and splendid joy of your amazing life, Colleen. We are honoured and changed by being with you, humbled and inspired to do better in our own lives. You have taught us to laugh, to question, to listen, to look on the bright side, to practise what we preach, to search for and find what is most important in life, he tangata. You have loved and cared for the planet in the way that you have cared for people  -  with thoughtfulness, compassionate deeds, and finding ways to contribute to, not detract from, what you find. Your love for your own precious daughters surpassed all else. I extend my own love of Colleen to Kate and Siobhan. We look to ourselves for fragile signs of new found strength, looking back with thankfulness. I can hear Colleen say, tell us a joke, Kath, but others can do that much better than me.

Colleen, first client, then virtual colleague and treasured friend. I'll miss you always in my life and work. Inspirational, so funny, so bountiful, and so courageous, I rejoice in having known you, with all your vitality and warmth, and with your shared delight in the small crafted house, lifetime design, and design for joy. We're still writing that book Colleen.

Many thanks to David and you for giving Budd such a great friend since year 1 at St Joesph's School, Rangiora. We still laugh at the Ken and Barbie incident all these years later. Rest in Peace now.

During my 4 and a half months in New Zealand in 2010 Colleen became my friend over coffees at the Dovedale Campus Cafe and at the Wheki lunchroom. I really valued her friendship, enthusiasm, and care.

Colleen was pivotal to the person I am today. Her attitude, feedback and grass root values taught me how to be authentic. Colleen gave me a small container of soil on my graduation day. Colleen had an affinity to Papatuanuku. I can see her joy at helping make the green things grow. I'm proud Colleen was in my life.

Colleen Lockie - a truly respected and valued colleague from professional development contract days when we laughed together, tore our hair out over milestone reports, sipped chardonnays in Wellington airport and phoned each other to touch base and support each other. My heart is aching and my deepest condolences go to Colleen's family. Rest in peace Colleen, see you on the other side. Much love Di McKenzie
