Colleen FITZGERALD Obituary

Peacefully at Burwood Hospital on May 9, 2025. She will be greatly missed. Colleen was "Wee Mac" to her late and beloved husband Leo, and a very much loved mum and friend of Sandra and Kerry, Nic and Mo, Brendan and Linda, Sonya and Bryan, Jo and Ann. Adored Granma of Dan, Ben, Todd, Regan; Anna and Kelly; Conor; Jessie and Josh, Sam and Jake; and a precious great-Granma of Maia, Harper, Hazel, Halley and Hugo. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at Christchurch and Burwood Hospitals, in particular Dr Lisa, Dr Rosie, Dr Nell and charge nurse Jools. Sincere thanks also go to all those at her home at Essie Summers and to Dr Clare – her GP and all at Doctors South for their incredible care over many years. A Requiem Mass for Colleen was celebrated on Thursday. She had immense and unwavering faith in the Lord and rests now in his loving embrace.

Sending our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Brendan, Linda, Conor, and the extended Fitzgerald family, on the very sad passing of your dearly beloved Mum. Treasure the precious memories, knowing that she is now rejoined with your dear dad. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace as she now enjoys her heavenly reward.

Beautiful mum to Soni and Bryan. Beautiful Granma to Jessie and Josh, Josh and Tullia, Ed and Deirdre, and James.
The best ever neighbour for many years too!
Mum, I will miss you every day; your smile, your hugs and our daily chats. But I will know you are with me each day as the sun rises, the piwakawaka dances by, the spring flowers emerge and the beautiful roses bloom.
And until we meet again, may you be held in the palm of God's hand.
