Hi sad news to hear about Colin. I played cricket against Colin lots of times. He was a true gentleman and a very good cricketer.
I played for Sth Canterbury and Ashburton also the Duck and Drakes. We were always competitive on the field and social afterwards.
Please accept my condolences for your loss.

I have so many fond memories of Colin, all from cricket related activities from my time involved with Central Otago and Otago Cricket. I travelled with him a lot while he was playing Hawke Cup cricket and enjoyed his company greatly. During my time as Chairman of Otago Country Cricket Colin was a regular visitor up to Molyneux Park and was for a time the groundsman, preparing some of the best grass wickets in Otago at that time. He was an unassuming gentleman and a great friend. My sympathy goes out to the extended Buttar family for your loss of this great bloke and my apology at not being able to attend his farewell. Love to you all. Malcolm Jones, Otago Cricket and Otago Country Cricket Life Member
