Very sad to learn of Clive's passing. Clive was a truly important figure for me as a youngster in CAS and his intellect and insight was quite inspirational. But what was so important for me was his willingness to spend his time with the likes of us "juniors". For me this started at high school, but then during my university days, I would often drop by his house while cycling home to share in some conversation over something astronomical, or otherwise. He was a true friend and mentor and a really great person. I know I'm not alone in these experiences and I know that it gave Clive a great sense of pride to see what some of his young friends had achieved in their careers and lives, whether it was astronomy related or not. I'm so pleased that I came to the Mt John meeting last year and was able meet and talk with Clive again after so many years. He seemed just as a I remembered him and was as sharp and as witty as ever. He has cast a long shadow and influenced a lot of people in his life, for the better. He will be missed.

I send heart-felt condolences to Clive's family. I was extremely privileged to grow up closely with the Rowe family. Clive left a huge impression on me as a child, showing us the rings of Saturn through his computer-controlled telescope on the lawn really was something, but only one of a constant flow of fascinating activities and creations. Clive will be greatly missed.

May you be in peace now Clive.
I remember you from way back in the 1970's in CAS and as a great friend of Frank and Anne Andrews.

Clive will be sadly missed by the Evans Family. My Mum & Clive were first cousins. My Maternal Grandfather and Clive's Father were brothers. My Mum, Sue Evans (nee Rowe) considered Clive to be the brother she always wanted. She loved him dearly and was glad to see him recently. We were very proud of his accomplishments but mostly loved his bright mind and vivacious humour. Our love to Marilyn and his family. Love Clare Brooking (nee Evans).

Clive, you touched many lives including mine. Without your mentorship in my early years I would not have had such a passion for electronics and computing. The giant who hoisted me on his shoulders and showed me both types of scope.
Can't thank you again in person, but I can follow your lead, pass on the passion.
I send my love to your loved ones, feeling the loss too.
