Clarence Eugene Grindle, age 84, of Dahlonega, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026. A lifelong resident of Dahlonega, Clarence was born on February 1, 1942, to the late Abner Fred Grindle and the late Blanch Ollie Anderson Grindle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hubert and Imogene Sanford; sisters-in-law Martha Sue Rider and Elizabeth Hudson; and nephew Travis Rider.
Clarence is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Grindle; his sister, Frances Elaine Grizzle (Dean). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred and Lyndal Caldwell, Bea and Danny Phillips, and Tracy and Sherry Sanford; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Cheri Young (Mike), Terry Grizzle (Misty), Bobby Hudson (Nicole), Hayden Grizzle (Quinn), Kevin (Ginger) Phillips, Sabrina and Kurt Thomas, Sydney and Trevor Casey, and Cager Sanford; great-nieces and great-nephews, Luke Phillips, Sunny Casey, Bo Thomas, Van Thomas, Jolene Thomas, Levon Thomas, Tillie Grizzle, Tatum Grizzle, Jacob Hudson, and Joseph Young; and special friends Tony and Susan Anderson, Carlene and Dan Grindle, and Walter Grindle.
His faith was deeply important to him, and he treasured his church family at Cavender's Creek Baptist Church, a place that held a special place in his heart. Clarence was a proud two-term member of the Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners and a member of the Dahlonega Fishing Club and found great joy in fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved working in his yard, camping, and forming lasting friendships wherever he went. In 2015, Clarence and his beloved wife, Patricia, were honored as King and Queen of Dahlonega's Gold Rush celebration, a memory they both cherished.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Cavender's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Adams and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted; however, contributions may also be made to Cavenders Creek Baptist Church in Loving Memory of Mr. Grindle.
