Dear Chrissie, Sarah & Matthew,
My deepest condolences to you all. It was my privilege to work with Coroner Devonport as he began his work as a Coroner. I remember fondly arranging his swearing in ceremony and the happiness he felt having his family and friends to celebrate his new career path.
His enthusiasm for the work, respectfulness of his colleagues and the families he guided through the coronial process was exemplary. He was a hard worker and approached everything with positivity and was quick to share a laugh.
Even years afterwards it was always a pleasure to run into him on the streets of Wellington. I would like to pay homage to the great person he was and to celebrate his well-lived life, ended too soon.
Sincerely, Jacqui

I worked with Chris when he first started in Law when he worked at Hill Lee and Scott Lawyers in Christchurch. Would have been in the early 1970's. so sorry to hear of his passing.

My sincerest sympathy at the tragic loss of Christopher. As a very green 17 year old at Chrisp, Caley & Co in Gisborne he was my very first "boss". I remember being quite in awe of him, maybe even a little intimidated, but he was always so very kind. Much aroha to you all. RIP Christopher. Donna Woolliams, Wellington.
