Christopher ALLEN Obituary

In loving memory of Christopher John Allen, aged 62, who passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. Chris was a loving husband to Anne-Marie, devoted father to Jonathan and Natalie and partners Gina & Ashley, treasured son of the late John and Joyce Allen (Tirau) and son-in-law to the late Frank and Margaret McAtamney (Woodbury), beloved brother and brother-in-law to Tony and Lyn Allen, Robyn and Lindsay Ryan, Mike and the late Marie Botica, Steve and Jo McAtamney and Lizzie McAtamney, fun loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews and dear friend to many. His generosity, warmth and infectious sense of humour will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Messages to the Allen family: PO Box 472, Ashburton 7740. A celebration of Chris's life will be held at the Hotel Ashburton, Racecourse Road, Ashburton on Saturday, December 14, commencing at 1.30pm, followed by a private cremation at the Ashburton Crematorium.

It is with great sadness to hear of Chris´s premature passing and our thoughts go out to Ann Marie, Jonathan and Natalie. The Cowper families spent many summers living next door to each other at the Mount for many years. We have such great memories of hanging out with Chris, Tony, Robyn and Marie. I am very sad about Chris's passing. I have known Chris through my work with the Water Zone Committee for about 7 years and thoroughly enjoyed his company. He will be greatly missed.
