Christo TROUGHT Obituary

Remembering Christo Trought with love, who died suddenly on May25, 2024 at Cloud Farm. While he would want us to be unsentimental, because he's now gone we can say what we like without brooking one of his famous comebacks. He was a fabulous human who was so very loved by his partner Rebecca, and children Max and Lily, and by his sisters, Katherine and Penelope, and his brother Greg, together with a happy multitude of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. To all, he was a man of kindness, indefatigable strength, and humour. A gathering to remember and celebrate his 60 adventurous and loving years will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Kohinga St Albans Community Centre from 12.30pm. Please bring your stories to share with us all, and you would be very welcome wearing flannel and bush shirts, gumboots or tramping boots. In memory of Christo, donations to Hinewai Reserve or Backcountry Trust are appreciated at: https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/pg1lCJyoEpHqAnoqfGr-B8?domain=backcountrytrust.org.nz and https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/82aRCK1pAqC2M1k2c3myXL?domain=hinewai.org.nz/

Very sorry to hear this news. Chris and I were at Cathedral Grammar together and were the only two from our year to go to Cashmere High. He was the tallest in the class and I was the shortest. Good times were had and I recall a number of funny stories due to Chris' irrepressible sense of humour.

Always so kind and generous with his time whether it be plastering our wall or taking a trip on his boat. Wish we could have a cup of tea with you and tell you its cold and definitely time to go in. Love Rachel and family x
