Christine Carmel
(nee Smith):
Peacefully at home on Friday, June 19, 2015, aged 69. Loved wife and friend to Peter for 48 years. Cherished daughter of Melville and the late Mai Smith, and daughter-in-law of the late Jim and Edna Brown. Treasured mother and mother-in-law of Toni and Guy Wallace, Pip and Paul Davey, Gerard and Leigh Brown, Mike and Fiona Brown, Rachel and Andy Thornton, Liz and Nathaniel Purdie. Adored Grandma to Jordan, Shannon, and Abby; Michael, Aidan, Emma, and Max; Hayden, Nicholas, the late Adam, and Alex; Olivia and Grace; Joshua, Tom, Lucas, and Charlotte; and a Great-Grandma to Amaro and Tobias. Loved sister of Martin, and Leonard, and sister-in-law to the extended Smith and Brown Families, Aunty and friend to many.

A Service to celebrate Chris's life will be held at Papanui Baptist Church, 144 Sawyers Arms Road, Papanui, Christchurch, Tomorrow (Wednesday), at 1.00pm. Private interment thereafter.

Passed peacefully at home, on Friday, June 19, 2015. Much loved sister-in-law and member of the Brown family; Brian and Robyn, Kay and Kevin McGirr, Jenny and the late Paul, Christine and the late Barry Ward, Phillip and Paula, Rosemary and Simon Hennessy, David and June, and Helen and Cliff Jones. A much loved aunty and great-aunty of all her nieces and nephews.
