Cherie Galloway Obituary

Cherie Holden Galloway, 69, of Brevard, passed away on January 7, 2026. Born in Transylvania County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Essie Murphy Holden. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Iva O’Shields, and her brothers Jimmy Holden, Kenneth Holden and Elvin Holden.

A teacher at Head Start for many years, she believed in living life to its fullest. She believed in reaping what you sow in life: love for love, kindness for kindness. She enjoyed dancing, fishing and tending to her vegetable garden, but she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Her loving survivors include her daughter, Alicia Fisher and her son Dwayne Galloway; grandchildren; Morgan Galloway, Mason Galloway, Alyssa McCall and Jaylen McCall; her sister Nell Rigsby; her great friends Nancy Bruner and Rick Chapman.

Services to celebrate the life of Cherie Galloway will be announced at a later date.
