Charles REID Obituary
Went home to be with Jesus on January 25, 2023, aged 89 entering his 90th year. Dearly loved husband of Joyce Reid, and respected father of Greg, Nichol, Cherie and Barry Reid. Brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and loved by grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was also a friend, a mentor, and a confidant to many. The Funeral Service for Gilbert will be held at Hope Presbyterian Church, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch, on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10.00am The Funeral will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/0-qh1yfN-rQ

Hi Joyce we are thinking of you at this time of sadness.We knew Gilbert as a good friend, as great workmate and as a fellow cricketer, We often talked on the phone over the last few years, which was great to catch up. On behalf of the North Otago Cricket Asssn and the Union Cricket Club of which Gilbert was a President of both organisations we will remember him fondly as a good bloke.

Joyce and Family, I am sorry to hear of Gilbert's passing, but very comforted of the assurance that he will meet Jesus. Had good associations with Gilbert over the years, and he was always interested in my employment, at one stage providing me casual work as well as persuading a local contracting company to take me on full-time as a quantity surveyor/estimator.
