Charles Herbert:
In England at Sobell Hospice with family surrounding him on June 8, 2023. Aged 61. Dearly loved husband of Nui and beloved father of Bini. Loved son of Peter and Fiona, loved son-in-law of Kritt and Nitsri Vaidyanuvatti, brother-in-law of Nat and Noon in Thailand. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Forbes and Bridget, Josephine and Nick, Eve and Marcus. Loved uncle of Austin and Felix, George, Violet and Somers, Edward and Pia. A worker for International Peace and a friend to many. A family funeral service and cremation will be held in England. I was at school with Charles though had not seen him for some time. He had the odd serious scrap there with George over some thing or another, I remember. We read about his work in Germany with the schloss in The New Zealand Herald, but knew nothing of his foray into Thailand. Interesting to see if his economic theories last beyond his death. At this day and age at 61, he seemed far too young to go. Good luck going home, Chuck.

Dear Elworthy family,

I would like to share my deepest condolences. Charles was a great lecturer and very helpful to his students. I attended his classes at the Szczecin University during 2009 - 2010 academic year when I was in Poland for Erasmus programme. What he has taught is still in my memories and I would say that he worked quite hard to bring us up to a good level in our studies. May he rest in peace.
