On 8 May 2025 in her 82nd year. Passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Loving and treasured wife of Paul and devoted mother to Kate and her partner Hamish Win, beloved Grandmama of Cleo, special friend of Hamish Lucas and cherished friend of many.

A Requiem Mass to celebrate Carmel's life will be celebrated at the Nazareth House Chapel, 220 Brougham Street, Christchurch, on Friday 16 May at 11:30am, interment to follow at Kowai Pass, West Coast Road, Springfield.

Dearest Carm,
My memories of our times together are long and rich. Today they are special.
I was privileged to meet you in the 1970's and we've spent many significant occasions together. I valued our friendship and sometimes rivalry. You were a great hostess, mentor, adviser and many more special qualities. You brought Mont and Kate into my life and we shared times I'll never forget. Now I see Hamish and Cleo are part of your life and am sure they too bring their own magic to you. Go well my friend and treasure your return to the Canterbury countryside.
