Bryce was my dad growing up and it´s thanks to him that I learnt to be confident in and enjoy the magic of the mountains and the sea. He loved my kids and they loved to play his drums, fire his bow and arrow and hang with his dog.
Bryce was a big presence and I have a funny memory driving him to the south of Holland for a Rolling Stones concert. He was oblivious to the fact that Kay was navigating reading insanely long Dutch place names and I was driving on the opposite side of the road for the first time in Dutch traffic. He leaned between he seats booming anecdotes and tall tales with a few cans while we nervously beetled southwards. We made it to the concert, had a grand old time and Bryce crashed out in the back seat on the way home, leaving us girls to figure out the way back in the dark. Just one of the cherished memories - I can still hear his voice and laugh and recall those really good times, and I miss him.

My sincere condolences to Bryce´s whanau. I hadn´t seen Bryce since the 1970s but remember him, not only for his achievements in swimming, lifesaving, and water polo, but also how humble, caring and kind he was. RIP Bryce.

Kay and family. So sad to hear of Bryce's passing. I only knew Bryce thru his Dental business, and had a few laughs with him. He was excellent in his profession as well. R.I.P mate. Gone too soon.

To Kay & Lana - I extend my sympathy, condolences & love. Bryce was a good friend, brief flatmate, and a much admired swimmer, surf lifesavers & drinking buddy on occasions. A humble guy with diverse interests, a superb.casual attitude, and a kind caring nature. His big heart, tenacious willpower & courage enabled him to achieve far more than most. I lived in awe of Bryce in the time I knew him, a mere 62 years. RIP Snoop. - Bricko xx

I was very sad to learn of Bryce´s passing, but comforted to know that he was on the beach. I have great memories of playing with Bryce, an excellent musician and a lovely man. Gone to the great gig in the sky. Sincere condolences to Kay and all the family, and friends.

There are so many great memories I have with Bryce. One that sticks out is us both singing at the top of our lungs at Sammys birthday (maybe 30th?) like no one was watching. I can't recall the song now but it was a belter. And in my head we nailed it! Was probably the first time I had ever sung out loud Infront of people and Bryce being so musical was the perfect person to duet with.
We may not have always seen eye to eye when discussing politics but we definitely had a strong shared belief in democracy, and almost everything else for that matter.
He always showed up in the best shirts and hats! I have been wearing my funky shirts in honour of him lately.
I loved him very much. He wasn't officially my cool uncle but in my heart he definitely was. I will miss him very much. Everyone who knew him will I'm sure.
I hope he's catching some epic waves in the sky and doing all the things his body wouldn't allow him to do anymore here on earth.
Love you cool uncle Bryce. Rest in peace. But only when your not Rockin Out.
