Bryan SOUTH Obituary

On November 13, 2023, suddenly at Christchurch Hospital, aged 80 years. Dearly loved and devoted husband of Audrey, adored super Dad of Julia, and Karyn, great mate and much loved father-in-law of Geoff Hardacre, proudest and coolest Poppa of Ruby, and Max. Loved brother and brother-in-law of the late Janice and Jeff Helps, and Jeff and the late Jackie South. Adoring and adored companion of the family's fur babies Romeo, Dutchee, Macey, Chester, Buddy, and Coco Chanel. 'A beautiful life for a beautiful man' Heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care provided by the staff of St John Ambulance and the Christchurch Hospital ICU team. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Bryan South, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. The Funeral Service for Bryan will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Monday, November 20, at 2.00pm. Private cremation thereafter.

Good morning Audrey and team South, I have just heard the very sad news this morning. As an former ANZ workmate and more importantly, a great friend, we shared many a good time and beer over the many years. Discussions ranged across all subjects, but it was very hard to get him away from his beloved rugby and all things Canterbury.

We had a lot of fun with Southie at The Grecian Club talking mainly

To Audrey and family our sincere condolences. I met Bryan on my first day at ANZ Bank in Riccarton 3 February 1964. He guided me with respect and friendship in those early days and that has always stayed with me. I am sure he will be sadly missed. Our thoghts are with you. Paul and Donna Rolton.
