Bruce TOWART Obituary
Peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on November 15, 2025; aged 96. Husband of the late Patricia; loved father and father-in-law of Wendy and William, Christopher, the late Tracy and Michael Holyoake; and Robyn. Loved Grandad of Josie, Luke and Niall; Great-Grandad of Felix and Willa. Many thanks to the staff at Christchurch Hospital and St Allisa for their care of Dad. Messages may be addressed to the Towart family, C/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Aymes Road, Hornby 8042. A private cremation has been held with a family memorial to follow.

We have known Bruce since the 1950s. He was a member of the New Zealand Air Force where he met his later to be wife Patricia (Pat). When they left the Air Force they settled in Christchurch where Bruce commenced work for Air New Zealand. He and Pat commenced a young family, they purchased a home and Bruce began to learn the art of masseuse with a special interest in sports strains and sprains. He became well known for his expertise in this field and was asked to accompany various New Zealand sports teams including the Olympics, on overseas trips. Definitely a great personality with a special talent. As our brother in law, Terry and Patricia Meehan (yes another Pat in the family) were delighted every time we were able to visit with Pat and Bruce in the South Island. Bruce's personality was larger than life which made him a popular figure in any situation. He will be missed but leaves a lovely legacy with his wonderful family.
