Bruce ORR Obituary

On Monday, April 22,2024, peacefully at home in Kaiapoi, after a short illness, and a long and active life. Surrounded by his loving family. In his 88th year. Dearly loved husband of Maureen for 61 beautiful years. Adored father and father-in-law of Vivienne, Bronwyn and Steve, Pauline, and the late Jacqueline; Grandad of Aaron and Anna, Justin and Kayla, Hailee, Kristen and Dane, Caitlin, Nicholas and Cherelle, Nicole and Jordan, Ryan and Katelyn, Liam, and Madison, and wonderful great-grandad to his eleven great-grandies. Loved and respected brother and brother-in-law of Valerie and the late John, the late Beverley and Brian, Mary and Bernard, Alana and Ray, Sharron and John; much loved uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bruce's life will take place at Northbrook Chapel, Spark Lane, Rangiora, on Monday, April 29, at 1:30pm. A private cremation thereafter. Donations to Nurse Maude Hospice in lieu of flowers can be made directly to their account, which will be made available at the service. Special thanks to Dr Jo McGregor, Nurse Maude Palliative team, Access carers, and Emma from the Cancer Society. Your kindness and empathy have made this heartbreaking journey an easier burden to bear.

A life filled with love, laughter, and passion, lived in service to others.

Very sad to hear of Bruce´s passing.Just heard through the Facebook post of a fellow member of the Olympic Harrier Club.We will miss the annual epistle from Bruce and Maureen covering their very busy and rounded life.My family and I remember well the very excellent Road running course and club events from the Orrs motor camp at Prebelton.RIP Bruce you earned it.Neville and Carolyn Reid and family.
