Bruce CAIN Obituary

On August 21, 2023, at Christchurch Hospital, peacefully, surrounded by family. Aged 86 years. Loving father and father-in-law of Leonie and Jennifer Mumberson, and Nigel and Ann Cain. Loving brother and brother-in-law of David and Judith Cain, and June and Des Ryan. Loving grandfather to his adopted family. Loving husband of Jean Cain who predeceased him. Bruce's family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of Christchurch Hospital for their care of Bruce following his stroke. A service to celebrate Bruce's life will be held at Kaiapoi Baptist Church, 67 Fuller Street, Kaiapoi, on Saturday, August 26, at 11.00am. Private cremation thereafter. Messages to the Cain family, c/- PO Box 35, Rangiora 7440. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson's New Zealand would be appreciated and can be made at the service.

Bruce and Jean were a family friend when I was a little child. I have a memory of Bruce when he took me to work one time and let me sit on his knee and steer the truck. That was when I would say with them sometimes. You and Jean were always such a joy to have around! I'm sorry it has been so long since I reached out! Leonie and Nigel, I remember youse both from when I was little as well, but I don't think we met you very much. Sending so much love to the family! Bruce and Jean, I'll see you when I get there love you both so much

My sympathies to Bruces family on his passing, and especially David and Judith , and June and Des. I have lots of happy memories of picnics at Peel Forest on New Years Day with all families present. Walks to the Big Tree were a highlight! Judith and Donald Hayward, Mt Horrible.
