Yesterday

I had the privilege of working with Bridie since 2015, and in that time I came to know her as someone truly vibrant, open, and incredibly hard-working. Her insight and her dedication to advancing human rights have created an impact that will benefit and protect countless people for years to come.

Bridie carried herself with a calm and pleasant manner that allowed her work to shine, even in the most challenging of circumstances. It was a genuine honour to know her and to witness the difference she made.

Bridie will be dearly missed, both as a colleague and as a friend. "Kua wheturangitia koe"

Bridie served as the Canterbury Howard League's Advocate for 2 years from 2020, when we also became friends.
She was a really clever, intelligent, caring woman who will be sadly missed. May she truly rest in peace.
