Betty WARD Obituary
On June 3, 2020, passed away peacefully at Chatswood Retirement Village, in her 89th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Lindsay. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Brad and Julie (Adelaide), Stephen and Amanda (Dunedin), and Bronwyn and Tim (Fernside). Cherished Nana of Stuart (deceased), Alistair, Lachlan and Rachel; Katie and Dan, Stephanie and Simon, Sam and Catherine, and proud great-grandmother of Charlie, George and Sullivan. Special thanks to the staff of Chatswood for their kind and compassionate care during Betty's 4 years residency. A Funeral service will be held at the John Rhind Chapel, entry from London and Whitmore Streets, on Monday, June 8. My condolences to her family.
We still remembering her every single day and missing her calls during my shifts in the morning. Betty was one of the most lovely people I've met in NZ. It was a pleasure to take care of her in Chatswood during my 1,5y working there.

Dear Bronwyn and family,
Was sad to hear that Betty had died. I had'nt seen her for some time - but have such wonderful, warm memories of Betty. I first met her and Lyndsay many years ago and Betty was always so kind to us and she became a friend to many of us.She was a beautiful, caring woman and was able to display such empathy. My thoughts and sympathy go to Bettys family. I worked with her at the old Beckenham Post Office many years back, such a great workmate a wonderful careing lady.She also worked with my brother at the old Sydenham post shop.I We had a lot off laughs and kept in touch when she was living in Centaurus rd.Betty was very passionate about anything regarding her family,loved them all and spoke about them often. So many happy memories, time shared talking about family & netball.Her passion for Canterbury Netball and the Hagley Club was unmatched and unwavering.
