Betty (nee McVicar):
Passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018, at WesleyCare; in her 90th year. Dearly loved wife of the late Arthur Gibson, loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Irene Smith (Te Anau), Lesley and Bill Brittenden (Kirwee), and Garry and Lisa Gibson (Wellington). A cherished grandma of Tracey Freeborn, Julie Smith, Ivan Smith, Katie McEachran, Lizana Muir, Jenna and Jaden Gibson, and a loved Grandma Betty of her great-grandchildren Emme, Reuben, Timothy, Ashley, Jessica, Jack, Edward and Theo. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimers NZ would be appreciated and may be made at the service. Messages to the Gibson family c/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. A celebration of Betty's life will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Friday, August 17, at 1.00pm. A private cremation to follow.
