Betty COULSON Obituary

Died at her home in New Brighton, Christchurch, on July 31, 2024, following a week of poor health. She was 95 years of age. Wife of the late Tom Coulson, who passed away in 2000, she is survived by her three children, John, Julie, and David, and three grandchildren, Evelyn, Jason, and Deen. To all who knew her, she was respected for her kindness and humour, as well as her drive to win at all games she played. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Betty Coulson, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. We invite all who knew and loved this cheerful lady to attend her funeral service at the AvonPark Chapel, corner of Kerrs and Pages Roads, Linwood, Christchurch, on Wednesday, August 7, at 2.30pm, after which her remains will be cremated and buried privately according to her will.

I had Tom Coulson as my teacher in 1963 at Shirley Intermediate School, i would like to say that he was the BEST teacher anyone could have and i thrived on his way of teaching,My condolences to the family of there mum (Betty ) passing. Now with Tom forever more ! Phil Millar !

I was a pupil of the late Tom Coulson at Shirley Intermediate.
I remember Betty always coming along to school camps driving the Ford Cortina wagon.
Visiting their New Brighton home was always a delight.
I remember Tom telling me that Betty worked at Ballantynes when the fire broke out in 1947.
I now reside in Sydney, Australia.
My sincere condolences to the Coulson family on passing of Betty whom I have known since 1980.
