Bernard HAMMOND Obituary
17.01.1929 – 15.10.2024
It is with great sorrow that we have lost our beautiful father, in his 96th year. Adored husband of the late Helen, much loved father and father-in-law of Blanche and Murray, Margery and Tony (deceased), Katrina and Michael, Bernard, Anthony, Carmen, Brian and Theresea. Loved Grandad of Dale and Rebecca, Mitchell and Courtney, Mason and Jenny, Jordan, Connor, Leah, Isaac, and Ethan. Bernard was also a Great-grandad to Alex, Maddison and Archie. Bernie was a loved uncle to his nieces and nephews, especially Les and Artesha, and a special thank you to Nigel and Shelley for being a great friend to Dad. Our Dad lived a wonderful life, had many adventures, and made many friends, especially in Cheviot where he lived for many years. He was a great newspaper man, working on both the Press and Star Newspapers. Very special thanks to Windsorcare for their amazing care and empathetic attention towards our Dad. According to Dad's wishes, he will have a private cremation, and a celebration of life at a later date. Messages can be sent to Blanche Head, 70 Chelsea St. Christchurch.

RIP Mr Hammond as I always called you even though I've been in Oz for many years I will always remember you sitting there with your beer & a cigarette in hand...& getting hit in the head with a golf ball at the Star Xmas Party.
