Bernard CURSONS Obituary

CURSONS, Bernard John:

Born on January 10, 1939, in Pukekohe to the late John and Kathleen Constance (nee Gordon) Cursons. Older brother of the late Norman Keith Cursons. Bernard passed away peacefully at Burwood Hospital on January 1, 2022, after a short illness. Small of stature but mighty of heart, Bernard rose above the many challenges of his life with great equanimity, showing determination and a positive attitude. He was a valued friend, neighbour and community character who was always looking for his next adventure, be it big or small - including a frightening propensity for getting about Christchurch on his bicycle. Donna and David extend their grateful thanks and appreciation to the team in Ward 2B at Burwood Hospital. Their empathy for, and wonderful care of this lovely gentle man, helped make his last weeks such a profound, calming experience for, and tribute to, Bernard and his life. A memorial service will be held for Bernard at South West Baptist Church, 244 Lyttelton Street, Spreydon, at 1.00pm on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. This will be a My Vaccine Pass event. Passes will be checked and we appreciate your respect in this regard.
