Baxter McKEOWN Obituary

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, peacefully at Wesley Care Rest Home, aged 85 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of James and Andrea, Jocelyn and Shayne, Anna and Tom. Cherished grandad of Bradley and James, Mathew and Cameron, Hugh, William and Angus. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Jonathon and Trish, brother and brother-in-law of the late Duncan and Glenda and Elizabeth and John Bowers and cousin of Milne. Great friend of Ray Lilley, Wayne Wicksted, Ray Cox, Lois Cooper and the late Ross Brown. Special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Wesley Care for looking after Baxter for the past two years. Messages may be addressed to the family of the late Baxter McKeown; c/- Estate of Baxter McKeown, PO Box 13001, Christchurch 8141. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to Wesley Care. A memorial service to celebrate Baxter's life will be held at Wesley Care Chapel, Marblewood Drive, Christchurch at 2.00pm on Tuesday, December 2.

John worked in the early days with Baxter in the wool store, He was a great wool classer. He always came up to the farm at Parnassus when we were shearing too. A top bloke who will be missed. We caught up with him last year at Wesley Care and shared lots of memories.
