Dear Annie and families

So sorry Alan and I could not be with you all today, but hoping you will find strength in each other to cope with the very sad and sudden passing of our beloved Barry !

Barry was a staunch member of the Ruataniwha 54 Club, a tight group of guys who enjoyed so many good times on and off the water.

All your camping ground buddies will certainly miss the fun times shared with the many families and friends and unfortunately for us all, is now the fourth awesome bloke to leave the camp devastated.

Barry, you shared your advice and wisdom, remained calm at our not so perfect building attempts, was always willing to help with project managing, pot riveting and of course those tent pegs must be put in at 45 degrees - I never lost a guy rope after that lesson.

I will miss you on my walks past, our quiet talks, a sneaky ciggie, those life catch ups and fishing stories tight lines always Lesley Scoullar and all camp buddies

remember to bait your own hook, clean your own fish and tell your own lies
