Barrie GUY Obituary

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, peacefully aged 78 years. A memorial service to celebrate Barrie's life will be held at the Christchurch Football Club, 250 Westminster Street, Mairehau (Christchurch Park), on Sunday, April 12, at 1.30pm.

Barrie was a very valuable member of the Christchurch Rugby Club and in particular of the 1971 Open Juniors Team that won the competition that year. As a team we regathered in 2021 to mark 50 years and all enjoyed meeting again.
As a player Barrie was a strong prop, always there, always reliable and always very dependable at all times. A man of strong values, as captain of that side I would like to pass on our sincerest sympathies from our team members on your loss.
