Hi dad, your hair is looking far too long and messy. I know a guy, (friend of mine), who is a great hair dresser, he'll fix your mop in no time !!! ( That was my daughter Jaine who just walked in ). Not long after she took me into the shop where Barclay was working as a hairdresser.
She introduced me to Barclay, a very friendly guy who knew how to use scissors without clipping the edge of my ears.
We left the shop, me feeling a million' dollars.... (and ears in tact), Barclay was to be my hair dresser for some time to come. My daughter Jaine I learned had been friends with Barclay within a group for sometime, and after the haircut he became part of our extended family life, often popping in for a cuppa, or a chat. ( He even sat as a subject for a painting Lynne did of him ), This all was before Barclay entered his nursing profession and moved to England as a fully registered Nurse.....Barclay, You will forever be in our hearts, Not only as the HERO you turned out to be, but also as our special Family friend ! REST IN PEACE BARCLAY.
We extend our sincere condolences to Meagan and Family', the Mason Family' and grieve with you in the loss of your wonderful Dad and Son Barclay.

Barclay will always remember you for the shared laughter on the long days and nights. Your smile was second to none as were your hugs that made a bad day bearable.
Remembering a truly fantastic nurse whose loss is felt by all his NHS family, past and present.

MASON, Barclay Paea:
Barclay (Barcs) Paea Mason passed away on Saturday December 12, 2020, at the age of 56, at his home, in the UK. He passed away from COVID – one of the many heroes having paid the ultimate sacrifice for the love of his career as a nurse. Barclay completed his Diploma of Nursing and graduated in 1995 in Christchurch. He travelled to the UK in 1999 where he worked up until his passing. Barclay worked as an ED Nurse Practitioner at The Princess Alexandra Hospital. Barclay was a well-loved colleague and friend amongst those he worked and socialised with. Barclay was a free spirit who loved life and especially enjoyed travelling with loved ones. He had a way of always making others feel special. Barclay has reunited with his brother Moana, who passed away in 1988. Barclay is survived by his parents, Susan and Turei Paea, siblings Cassandra, Lisa and Riki, and his nieces and nephews. Ka mahi te tawa uho ki te riri. Well done, you whose courage is like the heart of the tawa tree. We salute you Barcs for your selfless love and dedication to your call of duty.
Kia hora te marino, Kia whakapapa pounamu te moana, Kia tere te Kãrohirohi i mua i tõu huarahi.
— May the calm be widespread, May the ocean glisten as greenstone, May the shimmer of light ever dance across your pathway.
