Barbara SISSONS Obituary

After a lengthy illness Bar died peacefully on October 4, 2023 at Te Hopai Home and Hospital, Wellington. Beloved wife of Terry, and mother of Bridgit, Nick and Sam. Dearly loved mother-in-law of Sylvia, and grandmother of Bella, Jack, Lexi, Martim, Olivia, Issy and Willow. Bar will be sadly missed by her sisters Helen, Lizzie and Margie, their husbands Peter, Stewart and Hans and their children Andrew, Luke, Jono, Lucy, Tim, Jessica, Andrea, Harriet and George, all of whom contributed so much to Bar's loving and happy family life. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Alzheimers Society Marlborough Inc (BNZ 02060 00112284 00), or Te Hopai Home and Hospital (ANZ 06 0513 0021667 00) both of whom provided amazing support for Bar and her family over a prolonged period. Following a private cremation on October 5 there will be a celebration of Bar's life on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Christchurch Club, 154 Worcester Street, Christchurch, starting at 2.00pm. RSVP to [email protected] preferably by 5.00pm on Tuesday, October 10 if attending.

I´m so sad to hear that Bar is no longer with us. I worked with her at the Reserve Bank way back in the 90s and she was such a vibrant, beautiful woman, a real joy to be around. My sincere condolences to her family and friends, who must miss her dreadfully.
