Barbara SIMPSON Obituary
Died at her home on January 1, 2025, in her 101st year. Dearly loved wife of the late Lindsay, much loved mother and mother-in-law of John and Diane (Akaroa), James and Adrienne (Kaiapoi), Brett and Pam (Wanaka), treasured Granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Enjoyed, loved and cherished by many in her extended family, wide circle of friends, and members of her community groups. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at St Paul's Presbyterian Church, Coquet Street, Oamaru on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2.00pm. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Blind Foundation Guide Dog Appeal would be appreciated and may be left at the service. It was always a joy to encounter Barbara out & about in Kakanui. Such a delightful, intelligent and engaging woman, and stylish too. Remembered with deep fondness.

Barbara was my neighbour at kakanui . What a great lady. I have many fine memories . Her mum Molly taught my father Trevor and Doug to swim across the river . Barbara and I shared many stories . One of life´s great sorts . She told me once if I couldn´t handle full % wine , not to bother haha . Condolences to all her family .
