Brian BENNETT Obituary

Brian arrived as a guest at our recently acquired Greenacres Motel in early 1996 with his calendar for his accommodation for the ensuing year. He would arrive roughly every three weeks on his rounds of the South Island. A friendship developed, which carried on through the following years. Not close, but always there, a true mate much valued, and sadly missed!

I have known Brian for approximately 70 years. When Brian and his family moved to Brooklyn I was designated buddy to ensure his transition to the new school. When Brian suffered his injury from the bicycle I was his homework liaison for the time he was away from school. We grew up together with some of the other boys and formed a tight group.
Our wicked teen years have some memories. Brian do you remember Mount Holdsworth and the trip to the bach at Otaki. They were great times together. The cars. Your Austin and my Morris we had some great times with them. However we grow up and enter the girls and we start to carve out our separate pathways. When you moved to Christchurch we did not see each other much but corresponded periodically. We have some great memories to fall back on. Rest in peace now my friend your time on earth has finished.
