Anthony WYLLIE Obituary

WYLLIE,
Anthony James (Tony):
26.2.1959 - 17.2.2021
It is with love and sadness that we let you know that on February 17, Tony passed away peacefully surrounded by love and family. Dearly loved son of Pauline, treasured husband of Chrissy, and amazing father to Cullum, Emma and Kelsey. Beloved brother of Brian and Jackie.
We would like to extend our immense gratitude to all the beautiful people at Nurse Maude and the Hospice for their love, support and exceptional care of our Tony and Dad xx
A celebration of Tony's life will be held at Academy Funeral Home, 65 Main South Road, on Tuesday, February 23, at 2.00pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations can be made at the service to a memorial bench or Hospice.

It has been some time now, but my deepest love and sympathies still with you from the Ellen family. Dad (Lance) really did love you and the time you spent playing football together. I always remember you as a kind, fun, Dad to Emma and Callum when we were growing up. I hope you have peace x

My deepest sympathies to Tony's family at this time. I played football with Tony for a number of years at Tech, and against him for just as many. I will always remember him as a tough but fair opponent, and a determined and friendly team mate. He was someone anyone would be proud to call friend. I will miss you Tony, but I will treasure the memories.

My sympathy and thoughts are with you all at this time. Lots of memories of playing with Tony in the Tech masters soccer team. What a great guy. Hold to all those memories you have. Regards Barry Toomey.

Happy birthday little brother. So wish that we could have celebrated instead of mourned. It is simply not fair.

Such a gentle, loving man taken way too soon. The love and happiness Tony gave my friend Chrissy will fill her heart with pleasure the rest of her life. I hope those memories will hold you strong through the months ahead my friend. With love and deepest sympathy.

How to find the right words to sum up my Uncle Tony? I don't think there will be enough space to fit in all the words that it would take for me to give a full picture of what he meant to me. Uncle Tony is my Kiwi Hero, and being here in Scotland has never felt so far away as it does right now. I just want you all to know that my heart is with you today and I would give anything to have been with you holding your hands.
I am so very lucky to have had the privilege to call you my Uncle. Forever Rest in Eternal Peace ❤

I was so lucky to be able to get to know Tony better on my trip to New Zealand in 2011. The warmth, energy and love of Tony, Chrissy, Kelsey, Cullum and Emma stays with me and memories of sitting out the back with Chrissy, Tony and Kelsey singing (and trying to get me to join in!!) will stay with me. Rest peacefully Tony, I'm so glad I got to know you. Xxx
