Anthony THOMAS Obituary

Tony and I shared a hospital room for 2 nights only and we agreed we were going to be mates. Sadly it wasn't to be and the opportunity to rekindle our brief kinship was lost. Fond memories and my sincere condolences to his wife and family. Warm regards calvi gargiulo

Very sad that I didn't get to see you before you passed, but I have very fond memories of you from when I was younger. I will always treasure all the conversations we had about the animals you were so passionate about and all the things you taught me about NZ's wildlife. Very sad news to hear of the passing of Tony. He was a great inspiration to me for getting into Volleyball when I first arrived at Waimea College. He was always happy to help with a smile and fun banter. Gave so many hours to coaching and umpiring. Sincere condolences to the family. Karen Dunlea

Such sad news! Deepest condolences to Mandy and family. I recall being part of the Tasman Secondary Sports Council that appointed Tony to transfer to Nelson as our Secondary School Sports Director. He made an absolutely outstanding contribution in this role and deservedly excelled to higher management responsibilities in Sport Tasman. A warm, friendly personality with a huge enthusiasm to get things done and done well. RIP Tony. Much respect - Murray and Jo Turner

Well what can I say...there's so many things you taught me in the volleyball circles. You were my very 1st coach and you took me under your wing. You taught me how to play, to ref and how to coach. You always had a smile on your face and your laughter was always heard from afar.
Sorry to hear of your passing. And thank you for all you've done for sport in Nelson and everywhere else. RIP Tony.

Sympathies to Tony's family - A man that did so much for so many.

To the family of Tony we are so sorry for your loss what a tragedy to lose a loved one that still had so much life to live.
He was such a kind and caring neighbour to our elderly dad always taking the time to chat with him over the fence and brighten up his quiet day. We also enjoyed many a chin wag with Tony. Our sincere condolences to you and thankyou Mandy for letting Dad know.

The Volleyball Taranaki community expresses its deepest sympathy to Tony's extended family at this very sad time. You were highly respected in the NZ Volleyball community both on and off the court. My dearest brother Tony, you were one of the best a sister could ever wish for.
