Anthony Raggi Obituary

Anthony Nicholas Raggi 76, died on May 15, 2025 at his home in Newfield, NY.

He was born on June 28, 1948 in Astoria Queens to Anthony L. and Mary Raggi.

He is survived by his two sons Joseph and Anthony A. with his wife, Melissa, and son Anthony M. Tony was a wonderful father, husband, and grandfather. He believed in education and taking care of his children.

Even though he was born in the big city, he lived the life of a farmer who loved his rabbits, goats, cows, chickens, cats, fish and border collies. Also an avid Gardener, always planting too much food for one family. He would have loved to be self-sufficient.

The house was always full of plants, and greenery everywhere.

He was active in his community of Newfield as part of the Library board and Habitat for Humanity. He graduated Wagner college as a microbiologist, but his life's work led him to helping people. He was a good listener but always gave great advice or an opinion. He dedicated his life working with the underserved. During his 35 years at Catholic Charities, he touched over 1000's of people's lives as a case manager. He will surely be missed by all.

All can come celebrate with us the wonderful life of our Father Anthony Raggi.

The family will greet friends and family from 2:30 before a memorial service at 3pm on Friday May 23, 2025 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St. in Ithaca NY.
