Condolences to Richard and Chris and families. Tony was my design lecturer in 1978 then a neighbour in the 1990s. In that time Tony and Betty were huge supporters of my efforts to get Windflow going, and were like family to our kids when they came along. Such a lovely couple! Such a nice man! The photo I'm attaching is a bit blurry but has Tony in the centre of a shareholder meeting for the factory commissioning of the prototype Windflow 500 in 2003. Tony was smartly turned out as ever! Other notables present are the late Neil Cherry (in the wheelchair with the same awful disease that took Betty) and the late Jeanette Fitzsimons, MP. Good company then, good company now for him.

Dear Richard and Christopher,

I was sorry to hear of Tony's passing. My condolences to you both, Susanne (whom I haven't had the pleasure of meeting) and your families. I had nice lunch with Tony at Ward's house a couple or so years ago. It was great catching up with him then, and he shared some news about you both.

I have fond childhood memories of both Tony and Betty, including learning to ride a bike in your backyard at Norfolk Street (and getting told off for crashing into a tree).

Sorry I will be unable to attend Tony's funeral. Please know that there is always a spare bed in Auckland should you ever need it. It would be nice to see you.

Warmest regards
Ben.

Graham & Judy Murphy

Graham was a student at the Canterbury Uni School od Engrg 1962-64 when Tony was finishing his degree and doing his post grad studies. We met Betty & Tony again in Akl when Tony worked for the NZED at the Otara Power station. Our lives kept crossing over the years and we shared some very memorable occasions with them & got to know their "boys". The family even visited us in KL in 1992 when G worked for Malaysian Airlines. Betty was the perfect match for Tony & a great social event organiser. We miss her wonderful personality. Lately we have caught up with Tony & Suzanne at University events. we even spent a memorable time at the Mbro Sounds "Bach" helping scatter Betty's ashes. Tony you were a real friend. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Farewell to a very kind friend and true Gentleman.
