Anne Horan Obituary

Anne Horan, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Manhattan, NY, on April 3, 1938, to parents Anna and James Hopkins, Anne's life was guided by her deep faith and inspired by love, laughter and creativity.
At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, Ron Horan. Together they shared 66 years of marriage until Ron's passing in March 2025. Their union was blessed with four children: Garry (Theresa), Susan (Ron Bertrand), Maureen (Shawn Humphrey), and Brian (Niki). Anne endured the heartbreaking loss of her youngest daughter, Maureen, in 2003, and carried her memory lovingly in her heart each day.
Anne was a proud grandmother to Connor (Alyssa), Ronnie, and Charlie Bertrand, and Ashley and Lexi Horan, all of whom were the lights of her life. She was also blessed to welcome two great-grandsons, Ryan and Jack Bertrand. Her life was rooted in family, where she found her deepest love and purpose.
Anne is reunited in heaven with her siblings who passed before her, Jay, Gerald, Maureen, and Sheila.
A graduate of the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Anne built a successful career as a graphic artist with Plenum Publishing. Her artistic talent was matched by her gentle spirit, her faith-filled heart, and her deep devotion to her family. To those who knew her, Anne's kindness and warmth were gifts freely given, leaving a legacy of love and inspiration.
The Family will greet friends on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville, NY, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maureen's Hope Foundation, 44 Oswego Street, Baldwinsville, NY 13027, an organization founded in memory of Anne's beloved daughter, Maureen. Contributions will honor both Anne and Maureen and keep their spirit of hope shining through others.
