Sad to hear this news.
I worked in the Dept of Labour in the early 1980s and remember his keen mind, wit and friendly optimistic approach to life.
My condolences to the family in their sad loss

Shirl (and girls), so shocked and saddened to read this - my thoughts are with you.
I have fond memories of Stephen from my early days working when he was my `boss´ in the Accounts section at the Department of Labour. His patience, kindness and sense of humour was great. Although we´d lost touch over the years, there was the occasional chance meeting. Some great memories for me - hold tightly to yours

I was very sorry to read of Stephen´s passing in this morning´s Timaru Herald. I hadn´t seen Stephen in many years but have fond memories of our school days at Grantlea School and working at the Labour Department, Timaru together. My deepest sympathy to all his family. Kind regards, Linda Moore (nee Cowan).
