Ann-Marie (nee Gunn):
On January 16, 2023, after a brief illness, aged 85 years. Much loved wife of the late Eelke (Eric) Gerben Cath. Beloved mother of Tine-Mieke, Gilanne, Adam, and Rachel. Loved mother-in-law of Jean-Pierre, and Annabel. A very loved grandmother of Darcy, Théodore, Philémon, Jolyon, Eelke, and Bodhi. Loved grandmother-in-law of Adeline. Very dear Aunty Fifi to an extended family and wonderful friend to many. Thanks to Bryndwr Medical Rooms, wonderful home help services, palliative care and the staff of Christchurch Hospital who have provided such valued care and attention in her last months.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Forest and Bird NZ and may be made online at www.forestandbird.org.nz/. After a private family committal, a memorial and celebration of her life will take place on March 2, details to be confirmed. Ann-Marie's spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren. I will remember her fondly as a strong advocate for women and a person with a zest for life and curiosity and love of learning new things. May she rest in peace.
