Andrew HIGGINS Obituary

We remember Andy and his role in the Citroen Car Club: an extract from the book "Citroen in New Zealand":
"Andy Higgins, patron of the CCCNZ, has made a huge contribution to the Citroen movement, both at a local and national level.When the Waikato Club thought it might defect from the national body in 1980, Andy talked then out of it, thus ensuring that the CCCNZ continued. Andy was National Secretary from 1980 until 1999, with a brief break in the middle. He attended his first National rally in 1983, and has attended every one since until 2016, when ill health prevented him from doing so. In the 1980s his company ATM designed and manufactured recharging valves for spheres on hydopneumatic Citroens, which meant that spheres lasted much longer, a significant saving for owners. Like most Citroen personalities of his generation, Andy has very definite ideas about how things ought to be done, and is happy to voice these ideas very firmly, no matter what the situation.But underneath a sometimes prickly exterior is a heart of gold with chevrons engraved on it. He really is the ultimate Citroen enthusiast."
