Andrew GIBB Obituary

Passed away in Otautahi on June 20 (Matariki), 2025. Aged 71. Son of the late George and June Gibb. Loving stalwart and husband of Ann Currie. A loved brother and brother-in-law of Jenny and John, Carol and Max, Dave and Judy, Tony and Ya Yang, Pam and Ron, and much-loved uncle of Jeremy, Ellen and Dan, Maala, Jesse and Vanessa, Darcy and Tania, Rosa and Cassandra, Hans, Faye, Andreas and Nini. Drew was an intelligent and caring man, who took great care in everything he did. His talents included music, gardening, cooking, photography, science research, bee-keeping, and driving. Drew had a keen sense of humour. He was a nature lover and also a great lover of cats. We thank the friends and relatives who kept in touch with Drew when he was at his most vulnerable. We sincerely thank the nursing and care team at Chatswood Retirement Village for three years of comprehensive support to Drew's needs. We sincerely thank Parkinsons New Zealand for the early professional and social support services provided to Drew since 2017. A private family cremation has been held. Details will be provided later of a celebration of Drew's life, to be held in the springtime.
