Andrew DICKERSON Obituary

Andy died at home peacefully on December 9, 2024, aged 62, after learning to live with cancer for over six years. Will be forever remembered with love by his partner Shona Powell. Loved brother of Karen Dickerson and brother-in-law of Werner, and Clive and Michele James. Much loved son of the late Eric and Janet (Kaiapoi). Adored by his mother-in-law, Fairy Horton (Invercargill) and nephew Kyle and niece Carla and Regan, along with their children, Sophie, Peyton and Carter. Andy was a valued friend to have and he touched so many lives in different ways. Thanks to everyone that helped him stay at home as he wanted. A private cremation has been held and we will gather to honour Andy's memory in January and hope that those whose lives he touched can join us. Please email [email protected] to receive the details. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NZ Flying Doctor Service would be appreciated. Messages to Andy's family can be sent C/- PO Box 35, Rangiora 7440.

So sorry to learn of Andrew's passing.
We recall his wonderful dedication to his Mum and Dad when we were neighbours in Kaiapoi

It is with my deepest sincere sympathy to Shona and Andrew's family to learn of his sudden passing on 9 December 2024. Andrew and I were meet and served on the Safer Christchurch Trust, then I worked with him at Age Concern Canterbury. A wonderful employer who supported programmes for a Safe Community, plus the older population to not become isolated.
He was a committed Community person and supported many people and I will never forget him for his role and phone calls. Especially when I was ill in Melbourne with Guillain Barre and our regular phone calls.
RIP Andrew
