Amelia CHILDS Obituary

"Nanny" passed away after a short illness at Christchurch Hospital on May 20, 2024, aged 97. A local of Christchurch, Twizel and greater South Canterbury who loved, explored and painted her home well into her 90's. Dearly beloved Mum of Sue and Anna. Treasured Nanny to the late Gareth, as well as Rochelle, Will, Tom, Jay, and great-Nanny to Ben, Aimee, Ed, Charlie and Evie. She would always be there for us. Thank you to the staff at Edith Cavell in Sumner who cared for her so well in her later years. In lieu of flowers please donate to Friends of the Botanic Gardens. Messages to be addressed to the family of Brenda Childs c/-Hope Funerals, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042. A private cremation has been held. Her ashes will be interned with her parents Agnes and Robert Childs at Waimate Cemetery at a later date.
