Allen COOKSON Obituary
On Friday, December 2, 2022, peacefully at Karadean Court Rest Home, Oxford, aged 83 years. Dearly loved husband of Isabel. Loved father of Christopher and Rosimeire; Rebecca; and Matiu. Loved Grandad of Anna, Eliana, Benicio. Special thanks to the staff at Karadean Court Rest Home for their wonderful care of Allen. Messages to the Cookson family, c/- PO Box 10345, Christchurch 8145. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate the purchase of native plants from Trees for Canterbury, which will be planted in the native bush reserve across the road from where Allen lived. The Funeral Service for Allen will be held in the Oxford District Union Parish, 85 Main Street, Oxford, on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 1.00pm. Interment to follow at the Cust-West Eyreton Cemetery, 398 Earlys Road, Cust.

Greetings,
I have only just found this obituary for Allen.
I have fond memories of him as my science teacher at Waimate High School in the 1960´s. He helped develop my love of science which became a significant dimension in my own teaching career.
He was also a leader at our local Church. We had some wonderful bike and canoe trips under his guidance.

Met Allen on several occasions on holiday with Matiu and Katie and children. He will be missed, he was such an interesting person. Very sad to hear of his passing and sending kind thoughts to the family.
