Allan WILLIAMS Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, aged 95 years. Allan was the beloved companion of Claire and the patriarch of a large family spread across New Zealand, Australia and Dubai. He will be missed by his children Kate, Sue, Linda and Paul and their partners, and his nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Allan had a successful career spanning more than 60 years and was well-known for his kindness and generosity. We are sorry to be losing his warmheartedness, intelligence and community spirit. He looked for the best in others and gave the best in return. He leaves the world having contributed to making it a better place. At Allan's request a private cremation has taken place.

Allan was a great man and was the founding chairman of Ashburton Contracting Ltd.
His knowledge and experience was second to none when it came to corporate business.
I was fortunate to work with him in my 10 rears as GM.
Rest in peace my friend.

Allan was that special friend who was always there when you needed him. For almost forty years he was that constant person you could rely on. And was a great socialiser. He knew how to work a room and make people feel welcome. He will be greatly missed. Our condolences go to his dearly beloved close family, partner and many friends & acquaintances.

Allan, You were always such a character. You came into where I worked with flowers you had "acquired" and gave them to us with much enthusiasm. Rest in peace x

On behalf of the Lyttelton Cruising Club we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Claire and Allans family. We enjoyed Allans company when he was able to join us on our excursions on the harbour. We enjoyed his stories of when he had Nautilus and his fondness for Quail Island. A very generous gentleman in all respects. RIP Allan (with 2 els! ) Kevin Wild and Sue McKinnon

You were never just a neighbour Allan, you became a massive part of my life, the stories you would share, the giggles we had, the flowers you would pick me, and the telling off I´d get for leaving you treats, I will forever hold these memories close to my heart. I was lucky to be your neighbour twice, and that tells me we were meant to be friends.

All my love to the family
