I have known Monty for many years 60plus, I returned to Kaitaia in 1968 to get married asked Monty if he could MC our wedding which he did ,My brother Joe had a band in the North ( The Northlanders) Monty was involved in Music back in the day arranging gigs for us , couple of talent quests in Whangarei etc He owned the coffee cafe in those days ,I think it was called the "Cavalier" next door to his Father Keith and Brother John, Jewellers, we use to entertain there on occasion. Monty never changed over the years, always on the go, Very innovated.Energy to burn, just loved life.He will be sadly missed in the North .Just a wonderful personality . We extend our deepest sympathy to his family .God bless you all .Mary Keeler and Family , Sydney Australia

It's easiest to say Jan & John Wright's family - Kaye,Pauline,Jenny,Stephen & Phillip - would like to say they are sad to hear of Monty's passing. It's a few years since Dad died but business connections & family connections, especially with Adelines long association with the pharmacy , hold many memories.

I am the daughter of Bill and Jean Thomas. We were Monty´s neighbors for years and my brother Jimmy now lives in the family home. We had lots of laughs and fun and disputes throughout the years but our families always respected each other and were always there for each other when needed.
We will miss you. Rest in love Monnty. Bill & Jean Thomas whanau.

Deepest sympathies for your loss of a loved, dad, Poppa, and friend of many.I worked with Monty on many occasions. For an event at the old A & P winter show at a show he put together, in Kaiataia at an event he put together called Aquarama, for his shop and I often saw him at events such as the Paihia & kerikeri Food and Wine Festivals where we would share a laugh and a few stories.
